Job Description:

 

Flying Instructor Specific Skills

 

  • Instruct student pilots in procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and in grounds school subjects such as navigation, radio procedures and flying regulations
  • Instruct graduate pilots who hold a Commercial Pilot License with Multi IR rating on the principals of Jet Characteristics, Airline Operations, Standard Operating Procedures and Crew Resource Management Skills.
  • Train licensed pilots in-flight how Operate to Airline standards in the Piper Navajo Chieftain.

 

 

Pilot specific skills:

 

  • Fly fixed wing aircraft
  • Train and prepare pilots for examination
  • Conduct Airline Bridge Training Ground School
  • Conduct inflight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights
  • Co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights
  • Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report inflight emergencies and malfunctions
  • Prepare flight evaluation reports
  • Conduct pre-flight inspection of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met
  • Provide graduate students with Airline bridge training to integrate into the airline and to improve qualifications of the graduates. This includes Crew resource Management Training, Multi-cultural flight deck training, and Jet Aircraft introduction

Requirements:

-     Education: Completion of secondary school and graduation from a certified flying or      aviation school are required

-     University education is an asset

-       Air transport pilot's license is required.

-       Certification as an airline instructor is also required.

-       Category One Medical Certificate

-       Experience working within an airline using a Safety Management System is required

-       Must have a minimum of 5000 hours as PIC in Airline Jet Operations

 

 

Salary: $55.00 hourly, 35 - 40 Hours per week

Important Information:

Work hours for the pilot will be scheduled anywhere between 7 am and 5 pm. Flexibility on schedule is required, the employee will be working 6 hours per day.
